The Big Conversation

NHS Walsall Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is planning to make changes to some local health services and we want to know what you think.

The Big Conversation Feedback Report

On the 24th January this year, NHS Walsall Clinical Commissioning Group launched The Big Conversation public engagement exercise. This seven week exercise was about talking to local people about how we can improve healthcare for patients, the challenges the NHS is facing, and what we are doing about this.

The Big Conversation is about Walsall CCG reaching out to the people of Walsall to get your views on how we can improve health services for you and your family.

Local NHS services need to change and we need to work with patients to consider new ways of working in order to improve services and ensure we have sustainable, quality services that are affordable and fit for the future. We want to listen to local people and discuss the future delivery of the following health services:

  • Urgent care (A&E, Urgent Care, Out of hours services)
  • Stroke services
  • GP services - Find out more in our Primary Care Strategy
  • Community services (district nursing, physiotherapy, podiatry, etc.)

InfographicsWe would like to thank everyone who took the time to share their views with us so far. As you may be aware we did a range of activities to find out what local people think.  We worked closely with Healthwatch Walsall to listen to local people and gather views in a number of ways. You can see at a glance a summary of the engagement activity we did :

So what’s next?

This engagement exercise marked the beginning of our conversation, with many people taking the time to share their views. The response we received indicates how much people care for their local NHS services and how willing they are to help shape what we do in the future.
We have used the feedback we have gathered so far to develop proposals for changes to some local health services.  We will be asking for local people’s views on these proposals.  We will publicise future opportunities for you to give us your feedback in the coming months.

Thank you for your continued support in shaping future health services in Walsall.

How do you fit in?

It is important to us that we get your views on these services and to work with local people on future plans. We want to hear your thoughts, experiences and suggestions on how services can be improved.

Almost 70 people attended the January launch event at the Walsall Town Hall, where they discussed their views on health services. You can view the photos from the launch event here.

Share your views

We are asking for your views on how care can be delivered differently while still providing the best health outcomes and the best value for people living in Walsall.

The feedback you provide is important to us and will help decide how we plan health services in the future.
