Patient and public involvement is essential in developing, improving and monitoring health and care services.

The Patient Participation and Liaison Group (PPLG) is made up of local people who represent and Chair Patient Participation Groups across Walsall’s 52 GP practices.

The PPLG meets quarterly to support Patient Participation Groups to represent the views of their local communities and influence effective patient and public engagement within GP practices. The meeting is also an opportunity to network and share best practice, ensuring that people’s experiences of GP services are used to improve the health and care of people in Walsall.

As a member you will...

  • Be invited to take part in discussion groups and listening events
  • Be invited to attend and take part in engagement opportunities
  • Attend a quarterly meeting whereby you hear about PPG key developments, best practice and are asked to share your views
  • Opportunity to inform and influence service development within primary care services and how the CCG engages with patients and public in Walsall
  • Opportunity to raise questions with the CCG, bringing the voice and experience of patients into the heart of the CCG.

If you represent or Chair a Patient Participation Group in Walsall, then why not get involved?

Members have co-produced their terms of reference for the group. They also have developed a work-plan which will be implemented during 2019/20.
