Do I need the flu vaccine?

Flu can be a serious risk to your health. Having the flu vaccine is the only way to protect you and your family from flu.

See local GP Dr Mandal talking about the importance of having the flu vaccine.

It’s important that you have the flu vaccine if you are:

  • aged 65 or over
  • expecting a baby
  • have an existing health problem
  • care for an older or disabled person
  • work in health or social care

For children aged 2, 3 and 4 and in school years 1 and 2, the vaccination is available as a nasal spray, with no need for an injection.
