Walsall Healthcare Trust out of special measures

Following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust has been removed from special measures.

The Trust’s overall rating of ‘requires improvement’ remains the same, with care rated as ‘outstanding’.

Sarah Shingler, Chief Nursing Officer at Walsall Clinical Commissioning Group said,We are pleased to see the progress made by Walsall Healthcare Trust in moving out of special measures and receiving ‘Outstanding’ for care in a number of areas. We will continue to work with the Trust to make further progress, while ensuring areas requiring extra attention – including safe staffing levels, updating patient records and preventing avoidable harm to patients, are improved in line with the CQC’s recommendations.”
